Movistar has joined forces with India-based remote technical support specialist iYogi to launch what it describes as a "first of its kind" consumer tech support and advice service called Guru. The service is targeted at all Movistar customers and aims to swiftly resolve technical problems of all types related to home digital devices, from Windows to Mac OSX-based PCs, smartphones, tablets and even games consoles. A group of experts will be on hand to assist with installation and configuration of software, applications and peripherals, troubleshooting, removal of viruses and malware, computer optimization to improve performance, home networking, as well as offering general advice on smartphones and tablets. The experts can be contacted from 08.00 to 22.00 every day of the week by live chat, telephone or email.
There are four different types of Guru support available to Movistar customers: ‘Guru’, which offers unlimited remote support at any time for any device for EUR 5 per month; ‘Total Guru’, which also includes Norton 360 Multi-Device protection for up to five devices and a back up service for EUR 6 per month; ‘Guru Express’, which provides instant assistance to resolve a problem for a one-off payment of EUR 30; and finally ‘Guru in your home’, where a technician will pay an on-the-spot visit to resolve a problem with a connected device for EUR 99.
