Turn it off

Restarting the phone is the most obvious. Hold on the Sleep/Wake button (top left) and switch it off. In case it does not shut down, hold the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time for at least 10 seconds for a hard reset. Once the Apple logo appears onscreen, you are sorted. Restarting helps you complete updates or downloads of your recently installed apps.

Plug it to a charger

Well, this might take a few minutes to respond, especially when your phone is running on a low battery, but at times recharging your phone, dose help in reviving the frozen screen.

Clear the App jam

At times a single app refuses to work and you get stuck. In this case, press the Home button twice to access all the apps in use. The aim is to close all the apps that are not used. Having several apps open without any immediate use not only eats into your battery but also clogs your screen. So clear the jam.

Check out the storage space

iPhones promise you as much as 32 GB of space but that does not mean that you exhaust its limit. Excessive storage of data may be another reason of frequent freezing of your device, especially in case of an app-packed phone. Try to do away with some apps that are rarely used and leave an empty space of 1-2 GB so that your phone can breathe easy.

Watch out the Updates

Go to the Software update section in Settings and update your iPhone, as an outdated OS could be a possible reason for a frequently freezing screen. You may also plug it into your laptop and update.

System Restore

If nothing seems to work, the final resort is a system restore. One major setback with it, however, is that it restore the system to the original factory settings, thereby, deleting all your media files, but It does work. So ensure a foolproof back-up before opting for a restore. Ensure that your version of iTunes is up to date and carry on with the restore through your computer.
