Do you need that added security layer on your LinkedIn account? Here is how you can gear up your LinkedIn account with the two-step verification process.
Just a few weeks back, Twitter came out with two-step verification for its site and now LinkedIn has also come up with its two factor authentication. Whether you do it with apps like Google Authenticator or use SMS as a process, that added layer of protection is much required.
Here is how to enable the two-step verification for LinkedIn.
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is log in to your LinkedIn profile. Now click on the user picture in the upper right hand corner and then select Settings.
Step 2: Now go to tabs on the bottom left hand side and then click ‘Account’. You now need to click ‘Manage security settings’ that you would find on the bottom of the left column.
Step 3: Go for two step verification for sign in and then click ‘Turn on’. Feed in a valid mobile number and then click ‘Send Code’.
Now all you need to do is, simply enter the code you receive via SMS and log back into the LinkedIn site.
If at any point of time, you need to change the phone number linked with your account or you want to remove the two-step authentication, then these changes can be made from the same menu quite easily.
